Once October is here we all fall into a shopping frenzy to get a jump start on the holidays. Just like any other month or time of year, there is a “season” to buy certain items. Take a look at this list so you know what is hot and what’s not.
What To Buy
- Cars
- New inventory means for reduced prices on last years models.
- Cookware & Kitchen Items
- The holiday sales for all of your Culinary essentials have begun!
- Gas Grills
- With the Summer months at a close, these items will have to make way for snow blowers and home generators.
- Wedding Necessities
- The popular months in which to tie the knot have passed and so have the higher rates on decor and venues!
- Jeans
- Grab the left over back to school sales!
- Appliances
- Pick up last years models for a lower price, as the newer versions have just come out.
- Halloween Clearance at the END of October
- Snag some terrific deals on costumes, candy and spooky decor at the end of the month. I love a costume at 75% off!
- Electronics
- Purchase an iPhone, tablet or iPad at better than usual prices!
- Vacations and Cruises
- The peak season is over! Book a wonderful vacation at a fraction of the price it would have cost you in June or July!
What NOT To Buy
- Gift Cards
- You will find far more offers on gift cards available closer to the holidays in November and December
- Cold Weather Apparel
- The steepest prices on these are in October. If you can, hold off until January.
- Toys
- Prices will begin to drop by the end of November.
- HD TV’s
- Wait until Black Friday or after, otherwise you will be angry with yourself when you see your TV go on mark down.
- Laptops
- You will see your best price comparisons in November.
